How to remove too much in Photoshop?
Owners of SLR cameras know that some speck of dust can easily get onto the lens. During photography, its influence is not noticeable. But when processing a snapshot on a computer, the dust particle becomes visible very well. Another spot in the picture may appear as a result of contamination of the matrix. That is why we start with how to remove stains in Photoshop and here we mean exactly traces of dirt and dust. We will not touch the sun glare, since even a professional will take a lot of time to eliminate them.
As an example, we take a photo of cars entering the city. On the right side of the picture you can clearly see a small speck. Its size is small, but this detail catches the eye very much. Therefore, I would like to get rid of it. Some may think that it is a bird flying in the distance. But this statement is refuted by the following photo taken from the same angle, but after a few seconds. The speck on it is in the same place.
Following the results of the first part of our lesson, you need to understand how to remove a small spot in Photoshop. And this is done quite simply. However, you must first install the graphic editor Adobe Photoshop CS6 or CC. Older versions in this particular case are not suitable. The fact is that when deleting a selected area, they are not able to automatically fill the background with suitable colors. You have to work manually, which takes a lot of time. Therefore, it is better to use the CS6 or CC version, in which the elimination of such a speck takes a couple of minutes or even less time.
To eliminate unnecessary details, open the photo using Photoshop. Zoom in to 100%. To do this, use the Loupe tool, after activating which you need only a few times to click the left mouse button on the spot.
Then select the Lasso tool. It is his, not the “Rectilinear” or “Magnetic Lasso”.
This tool needs to circle the area around the spot. In our case, you can not be afraid to capture more of the sky, as it is as homogeneous as possible. If the background were more complex, you would have to keep the stroke closer to the contour of the spot.
Now it remains only to press the Delete key. Pop up a dialog box. In it you need to choose the color that will be filled with the selected area. You should select the item “In view of content” instead of color. In this case, the program will try to virtually continue the existing background.
Next, go to the “Selection> Deselect Selection”. Photo is ready. The spot is eliminated and now it is even difficult to say exactly where it was located. Now you know how to remove too much in Photoshop and as expected, this action takes a minimum amount of time. But the spot was small. Not to mention the fact that it was against the sky. It would be much more difficult to remove it if the spot were located on the contour of an object. In some cases, it is impossible to eliminate such a speck of dust with software at all. Therefore, carry a cleaning pencil with you when shooting. This accessory costs a penny, and makes life easier. You just need to train yourself to use it regularly.
But in some cases it is required to remove not just a speck, but a rather serious object. For example, a pole and wires stretching from it. This operation can be performed with the landscape, photographed in the Soviet district of the Kirov region. This picture shows a hill with trees growing on it. In the center of the frame you can see the pole and the wires, stretching from one village to another. Oddly enough, you can remove this object without much difficulty.
So, our task is to understand again how to remove unnecessary things in Photoshop and now it has become more complicated, as barely noticeable wires were added to the post. Do not worry, we will also remove them without any problems. First, open the picture with Adobe Photoshop. Zoom to 100%. For convenience, you can try to increase the scale even more. Activate the Lasso tool. Circle the pillar, but this time keep as close as possible to its contour.
Press the Delete key, in the pop-up window, select the item “Considering the content”. The pillar will disappear immediately. Go to the “Selection> Deselect Selection” path or use the key combination Ctrl + D.
Next you need to get rid of the wires. It is better to remove them with a brush. But first you need to unlock the current layer. To do this, go to the “Layers” panel, where you need to double-click the left mouse button on the name “Background”. You will be prompted to give the layer a new name. Take advantage of this opportunity and click “OK”.
Further steps are very simple. Zoom the image to 400 percent. This will allow to view the photo pixel by pixel. Use the eyedropper tool. Pipette the pixels adjacent to the wire (in the area with trees).
