How to be photographed to be photogenic in a photo

Many women, and there is no reason to conceal – and men too, are afraid to be photographed because of fear of looking in a photo non-photogenic, i.e. – unattractive. Paradox, but a fact: many people in life look better than in the photo, and vice versa. Why is that? How to be photographed correctly in order to work well in photos?

But first, let’s figure out what photogenic is? For the first time, the concept of “photogenicity” was proposed by Frenchman Louis Delluc, by definition, which photogenicity is the property of people to win in a photo compared to their appearance in real life, and non-photogenicity is the property of a person to lose during photography. In general, the term photogenicity originated from two English words – “photo” and “gene” – i.e. suggests the presence of beautiful, remarkable, attracting the attention of external data of a person in a photo or movie.

In the understanding of professional photographers, people with photogenicity in life do not have to be beautiful. Photogenicity depends more on the expressiveness and sharpness of facial features than on the external or internal beauty of a woman or man. Strange, but it has been proven by photographers: the sharper the outlines of a person’s face, the stronger the person’s cheekbones or other irregularities in the oval face, the more photogenic he is!

Imagine: just like that! The sharp, irregular or large features of the oval face look better on the photos – they stand out, and the person seems to be more noticeable and … prettier. But girls and boys with a smooth, round oval face do not have photogenicity – their faces look blurry in the photo, they have nothing to cling to. Like this.

Thus, photogenic – this is a property of a person’s appearance, which is characterized by non-standard, sharp facial features, clearly visible in the photo.

So how is it possible to be photographed correctly in order to appear in photos and in the memory of close people beautifully and photogenically? Psychologists respond in a peculiar way to the question “What is photogenicity?” They believe that photogenicity fully depends … on a person’s self-confidence. Stories there are many cases in which beautiful and photogenic women lose their self-confidence after giving birth and lose their photogenicity. Conversely, gorgeous, photogenic ladies often grow out of clumsy teenage chickens.

Why it happens? Because photography reflects reality correctly, but not 100%. The photo is different image plane, according to the author of the female site www.forlove.com.ua, she does not always correctly convey the real contrasts and brightness, and also distract the attention of extraneous elements in the photo. Some photographers believe that photogenic is determined by the presence or absence of human charisma.

What is remarkable is that photogenicity largely depends not only on the person who is being photographed, but also on the photographer himself. If the person being photographed does not sympathize with the photographer, it is unlikely that you will get good pictures. But if the photographer is doing his job with love, he carefully approaches the shooting of each client, searches for the best in a person, then using a light make-up, tinting the complexion can even make a quite cute little animal out of a monkey. Not to mention the man.

Every person is beautiful and unique in his own way. The main thing is that the photographer wants to see, consider the photogenic of his client, and do so in good faith – with favorable lighting, in the appropriate setting, angle and necessarily a great mood! After all, photogenicity is largely “obliged” to the passions and emotions that rage inside a person, and not for fun, but for real.

To gain photogenicity, you just need to take more pictures of yourself and then analyze which photos, what clothes and what hairstyle you look like. Fortunately, the possibilities of digital cameras are endless. Remember that the concepts of photogenicity and beauty are not the same thing. That is why ugly in the life of men and women can compensate for their lack – look beautiful in the photo. It is important to always smile and feel happy person.

Practical advice on how to take photos and get photogenic:

During the photography, be yourself, behave naturally – if you want to dance – dance, if you want to miss – miss!
Makeup when shooting should be a little bit brighter than your usual make-up. Remember that it is better to be too bright than to look like a gray mouse and not to stand out against the general background. A wide nose can be visually “narrowed” with a small amount of dark shadows. Wash your face with carbonated mineral water to improve face freshness. Bronze blush will make your chin, cheekbones and nose more visible. Lowered corners of the eyes can be “raised” by underlining the eyebrows along their upper edge. Well, the final touch in creating photogenicity will be applying to your eyelids light, pearly eye shadows.
Do not emphasize your shortcomings, but level them with suitable clothes.
