NEW YEAR PHOTOS FOR FAMILY ALBUM
Tip number 1. Location for shooting
Designers try and invent intricate installations to our delight. Let’s use it. We leave for the most beautiful places of the city. In Moscow this is, of course, the center – Detsky Mir, GUM, boulevards. True, there are always people in the center, and in order to make a frame in which there will be no one extra, you will have to be patient and especially carefully choose the shooting point.
Tip number 2. Lights
Photos with Christmas trees will become more festive if they have beautiful bokeh lights. In order to get the bokeh, you need to shoot at an open aperture of 2.0 or 2.8 on a long-focus lens 85 mm, 135 mm, 70-200 mm. The farther from the lights the main subject is located, the more expressive the bokeh is.
Do not forget that when the aperture is open, the foreground is also blurred, even stronger than the back. Put to the fore some object with lights and the frame becomes fabulous.
Tip number 3. New Year’s tradition
Each family has its own New Year traditions and rituals. For example, letters to Santa Claus about gifts. Why not make a mini-photo session out of this event?
The apartments are usually not very good lighting. Therefore, it is better to find a more or less free space near the window. If possible, release the background, you can decorate it with a garland. Put Christmas accessories on the table.
While the child diligently draws a robot or displays “Daragoy Grandfather Maros!”, We remove it from different points. We make cadres of different sizes: general, medium, close-ups, details. From this shooting you get a mini-series of 10-15 frames.
Bake New Year’s cookies – also a great story.
Tip number 4. Accessories
New Year’s mittens, pajamas, socks – all these cute details will be great objects for photography. Indeed, thanks to them, the very New Year mood is created. And it will be so pleasant in a few years to remember and reconsider how sweet were the legs of a daughter or son.
Tip number 5. Christmas tree
No matter what your tree is, real or artificial. Children will be delighted with any and become the best decorators in the world. The process of decorating a Christmas tree can be very fun. It is possible to involve all family members in it and make a big photo series about this joyful event, not a mini one.
What is important? For a series of different plans are needed, as I said above. And be sure to take photos with the lights off and the lights turned on. They are magical!
Tip number 6. Pictures as decor
Christmas tree can be decorated with photos! It is not difficult. We buy small wooden photo frames, gold acrylic paint in advance, print out family photos (black and white will look more stylish). And voila – the original decor is ready.
Tip number 7. Candles and Bengal lights
It is best to shoot them on a dark background in a darkened room. You can make a narrow light with your own hands especially for such a frame: in the afternoon, close the thick curtains so as to leave only a narrow strip of light that will fall on the heroes of the photo. Shooting in this case must be conducted from the side, so that the background is dark and the light is side. Then the faces and smoke from Bengal lights will be beautifully highlighted.
Tip number 8. Gifts
On the morning of January 1, you need to show firmness of character, turn on your will power to the maximum and get up early to take a position for photo-hunting. The speed of the reaction is important here. In order to remove the sincere emotions of children and the process of opening Christmas gifts, you will have about five minutes.
Tip number 9. New Year’s photo session in the studio
There is such a tradition – New Year’s photo session in the studio. Since November 1, most photo studios have a festive decor. This, too, can and should be used. Such photography is usually done by a professional photographer. Prepare for it in advance, pick up clothes to match the studio and Christmas tree. Shooting in the studio is an excellent opportunity to take photos with all members of the family, so feel free to take in the studio grandparents. They will then be most pleased with the photos.
Tip number 10. Have fun!
Whatever photos you take at home, in the studio or on the street, the most important thing is to enjoy the process, not to be nervous if something is not possible, trust the hand of fate and enjoy the time spent with the family. In the end, this is your family album, you are not obliged to fill it with technically impeccable photos, which comply with all the laws of composition. Live and dear to the heart frames, as a rule, are far from these ideals, but they are emotional and accurate about you.
Merry to you December, New Year and Christmas! Let your photo albums be replenished with beautiful Christmas pictures!
